About HLPO
The HLPO Reporting Suite is an application that allows users to produce reports reflecting the rules embodied in the Kootenay-Boundary and Revelstoke Higher Level Plan Orders (HLPO) for meeting Biodiversity and Resource Emphasis Area targets. This application began development in January 2007 and has been updated numerous times since then with newer data and additional models.
The Selkirk Geospatial Research Centre (SGRC) has been contracted to continue hosting and supporting the application and has previously completed updates to the application as per the Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations (MFLNRO) requests. This has included building a tool for updating datasets and updating data tables within the database.
The reporting suite is made up of source resultant data tables, resource models and resource model results and report template.
Source resultant data tables are the GIS resultants processed with TSR crown forest land base and timber harvesting land base logic. They are the building blocks for the resource models.
Resource models take the source resultants and aggregate them into logical units so that the area target and the unit status can be determined. For example if the old growth target is 20% of LU, BEC, NDT,Variant then the CFLB area by LU, BEC, NDT,Variant must be totaled along with the current status of old growth. The results of the model are stored in an intermediate table.
Report templates are the framework for a report from a given model output. In the case of the Allocation Model there are many types of reports.
NOTE: This is a paid service. Anyone can have access to a demo account. However it does not include all the functionality listed in this help menu. Please contact SGRC staff for access or more information.
